INTEREST in this year’s open day at the University of York has broken previous records.
So far, 5,189 students and almost 5,100 family members have booked places at the open day, on July 6, 1,051 more than last year, and 2,186 more than 2009.
The university’s registrar, Dr David Duncan, said: “It’s early days yet but we’re extremely pleased by the strong interest in our open days and the take-up of our 2012 prospectus.
“It shows that prospective students are interested in coming to a university of proven quality. It is a reflection of the strength of our reputation for first-rate teaching and a rewarding student experience, both of which we intend to maintain and enhance.”
