THE daughter of former Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Phil Willis has got married at the Palace of Westminster, just days after US President Obama’s visit.
Rachel, a former York schoolgirl who won fame after becoming a model and actress by playing Connie in a series of TV adverts for internet firm AOL a decade ago, married Timothy Macpherson, a partner in property company Carter Jonas.
The wedding took place in the St Mary’s Chapel of the Undercroft at Westminster, with the service conducted by the Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkin, the Speaker’s Chaplain. The reception and evening dance was held in the Terrace Marquee of the House of Commons.
Lord Willis, who lives in Rufforth, said Rachel wore a full-length gown designed and supplied by Pronovias of Barcelona. The couple have flown to Thailand for their honeymoon.
