A GROUP of women have got on their bikes to cycle to Amsterdam and back in five days.

Setting off from the York Designer Outlet, at Fulford, the all female event is organised by Charity Adventure, an organisation which encourages people to ride their bikes and raise money at the same time.

One of the women involved in the event is Jane Lewis-Ogden, of Melbourne, near Pocklington.

Ms Lewis-Ogden and her team of 14 other riders are making the 250-mile round trip in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

She said: “It’s going to be fun and of course we’re raising money for a good cause at the same time.”

The ride left the Designer Outlet at 9am, with the hope of making the 60 mile trip to Hull for their evening ferry to Rotterdam.

The cyclists are due to arrive back in York on Tuesday evening.
