AN ADVENTURER from East Yorkshire is gearing up for an expedition to an island which is claimed to be the most difficult to land on in the world.
Andy Strangeway, a decorator from Full Sutton, also known as the Island Man, is planning to land on Rockall, the small and remote outcrop in the north Atlantic, 180 miles west of mainland Scotland.
Andy said he was waiting for the return of a plaque he had commissioned from a Pocklington engraver to take him one step closer to starting his summer expedition.
Andy intends to replace an original plaque that was fixed to Rockall in 1955.
