A MAN has collapsed and died on a train in North Yorkshire today.
Rail services were cancelled and delayed for about an hour after the man, thought to be aged 65, was found unconscious on the Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough service, as it passed near Malton train station at 3.08pm today.
Police are investigating but say there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Rail staff reported finding a man collapsed on the 12.22pm Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough service.
“British Transport Police and North Yorkshire Police attended as did paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is being treated as non-suspicious.”
Rail services were back running as normal at 4.01pm.
