THE curtains went up on Malton’s new art venue to overwhelming acclaim from the audience and performers.
Comedian and writer Barry Cryer hosted the gala evening at the Milton Rooms which included comedy, music, magic and dance.
Artistic director Garry Cooper said the reaction from everyone had been “brilliant”.
“Barry was on top form and all the performers, many of whom had travelled up from London that day, were fantastic,” he said. Garry, along with fellow artistic director Nick Bagnall and arts graduate Nick Barton, have spent months planning the re-launch of the Milton Rooms. Garry said: “All the hard work has been worth every second.”
