WHILE reading yesterday’s Press, two letters attracted my attention.
Firstly from T Scaife, surely the phrase “who will rid me of this turbulent priest” was coined by the great Australian cricket captain Richie Benaud when the Rev David Sheperd was busy scoring a century for England.
Secondly. Andrew Wood needs to realise that Tesco IS at present giving five pence a litre discount on petrol providing you spend more than £50 in store. In fact what they are really doing is giving you a whole penny a litre discount for your £50.
But there again, that’s supermarket chains: they have to try to fool the public into thinking they are getting a bargain.
Just for the record, I am not an undisclosed Lib Dem who failed to be elected at the local elections.
