St Leonard’s Hospice mascot Lenny Bear joined children at York College Day Nursery to thank them for supporting the hospice’s Go Yellow Day.
Yellow sunflowers are the symbol of St Leonard’s Hospice, and schools and nurseries around the area the Hospice serves encourated children to dress in yellow on June 10. Sarah Atkinson, community fundraiser at St Leonard’s, who works closely with local schools and young people, said: “Lenny Bear really enjoys meeting children, so he was delighted to be invited to York College Nursery. “Everyone taking part in Go Yellow Day this year has been very enthusiastic, and we are very grateful to them all for their support.”
