I WOULD like to give my wholehearted support to the points made by Rob Johnson (Letters, June 7).
The evening bus service out of York on the A19 via Skelton and Shipton and other villages north of York provided a vital link for many people.
The suggestion that there should at least be a Friday and Saturday evening service with an increased ticket cost and no concessionary travel would be an acceptable solution to many of the people who I know who used the service in the past. At the very least I would have thought that one return service running from Easingwold to York around 7pm, returning from around York 11pm, would be a viable proposition. We need others to be proactive in voicing their support and to also gather the support of the parish councils in the district to get at least some semblance of an evening bus service re-instated.
