GOOD grief – pages one, two and three taken up with an ‘exclusive’ in The Press (Monday, June 13) because the Prime Minister attended a wedding near York!
Surely there is something more interesting and newsworthy than this non-story which merits no more than a few columns and perhaps a picture deep inside the newspaper?
I remember the days when the Yorkshire EVENING Press gave us news that mattered; gave us news that happened on the day – not yesterday’s news.
How standards have fallen. I personally want news that is worth reading – not tittle-tattle fit only for a ‘soap’ magazine!
Go on Mr Editor, I dare you to publish my letter.
David Potter, Lynden Way, Holgate, York.
• Editor’s note: We felt the photograph of Mr Cameron with his baby daughter was sufficiently striking to merit the page one treatment it was given. Interestingly, this was our most read story online on that day. However, we believe we provide a balance of news, features, sport and information to cater for a wide range of tastes and opinions.
