A YORK musician will preview tracks from his upcoming album at the city’s Grand Opera House this weekend.
Chris Helme, who has performed as a solo artist around York for more than ten years, will headline the gig, which starts at 7.15pm and also includes theatre, musical and comedy performances.
He said: “I’ve been on the York music scene for a long time, so the Arts Barge Collective asked me to help. It’s an awareness gig by the Arts Barge Collective, to try to raise enough money to buy a barge to use as a music venue on the River Ouse.
“They’ve planned to have a barge moored by the Bonding Warehouse throughout July, where they’ll be holding daily gigs, as sort of a warm-up for the real thing.”
Local band The Littlemores will also perform. Tickets (£11) are available from the box office on 01904 671818.
