A YORK car showroom has held a ladies’ fundraising night to raise hundreds of pounds for St Leonard’s Hospice.
About 90 people attended the Women At The Wheel event at the JCT 600 Volkswagen showroom in Clifton Moor to raise £650 for the Tadcaster Road charity.
As well as a bucks fizz and canapés reception, guests saw safety and maintenance demonstrations and displays from local businesses.
Andy Frost, general manager at JCT 600 Volkswagen York, said they had chosen to raise money for the hospice following a discussion with staff.
He said: “We felt that we should do something local and decided to do a ladies night to raise the profile of the business with different customers and raise money for a local charity.”
