POLICE searching for a missing dad-of-two say they are following up new lines of enquiries.
As the hunt for David Huitson, 62, of Springfield Road, Pocklington, enters its fifth day, police were today combing the nearby Allerthorpe Wood after a dog walker spotted a man matching his description.
The walker who passed on the information to another person in the woods who subsequently told police.
Detectives began searching the wooded area yesterday and Sgt Pete Rogers, of Pocklington Police, is urging the dog walker to come forward as he may have more information that could help officers.
Sgt Rogers has also thanked members of the public who have come forward to help in the search for Mr Huitson, who was last seen by his family at about 2.30pm on Monday when he left home to go for a walk.
Mr Huitson, who is white, 5ft 9ins tall, stocky build, with short, straight black hair, suffers from Parkinson’s disease and needs regular medication.
When last seen he was wearing a light grey, long-sleeved jumper, dark grey jogging bottoms and black shoes with Velcro fastenings.
