Selby Warriors ARLC Under-10s enjoyed a night out at the Big Fellas Stadium – which acted as a reward following an 88-38 try-fest against Beeston Broncos.
The young Warriors played in a curtain-raiser to Featherstone Rovers’ Northern Rail Cup semi-final against Halifax on Thursday night, having put Beeston to the sword in their previous encounter.

The hosts ended with 16 tries and 12 goals, with the try of the match coming from Guy Nicholls.
Alex Kirk ran his blood to water in search of opportunities while George Broadhurst was joint player of the match along with Jenner Hazell, who had her best game to date with some fantastic offloads and tackles. She was also the Broncos’ choice of player of the match.
A magnificent last 15 minutes saw Heworth U11s grab victory from the jaws of defeat at Featherstone Lions.
The home side started the brighter, playing a style of rugby which belied there third tier status.
But the Villagers showed character to come back from 14 points down with ten minutes to go to win 34-28.
Men-of-the-match Shay North, the top tackler, and two-try Tom Kilgar were both instrumental in the turnaround, while Jake Wright produced three try-saving tackles, ran well and scored a fine solo try.
Sam Young scored two tries in a fine game along with both wingers Lester Massey and Alfie Oliver, who scored his first try for the club in his second outing.
Man-of-the-match Sam Adelugba scored four tries as New Earswick All Blacks U10s continued their fine form after a mid-season lull.
Apart from a narrow defeat at Wibsey, courtesy of a last-minute try, All Blacks have won five of the last six games, the latest being a well-fought 34-22 win at Bradford Dudley Hill, courtesy of an impressive second half.
Adelugba starred, while Liam Pearson won the ‘outstanding in attack’ award after filling in for the absent Reece Ounsley at scrum-half.

Alex Horn, Jack Gunn and Fin Osborne also shone in attack and likewise Sam Gage, Ben Richardson, Tom Halliday and Euan Farrington in defence.
New Earswick All Blacks U9s put up fair performances in difficult circumstances as hosts Doncaster Toll Bar only had six players.
The opposition’s choice of player of the match, Ellena Powell, continued her good form with more solid tackling and a try, and man-of-the-match Joshua Kelly scored two and was top tackler.
