THE latest event in the fundraising drive to help paralysed York mother-of-two Debbie Plowman will take place this weekend.
A golf day is being staged at Sandburn Hall’s 18 hole championship golf course tomorrow afternoon, with golfers paying £40 per person for a round and entry to a barbecue on the veranda, which will be followed by a live band and an auction and raffle of items such as sporting memorabilia.
Entry costs £160 per team of four, including the barbecue, while barbecue-only tickets cost £15.
People can email info@debbieplowmantrust.org.uk for more information.
Debbie, of Haxby, broke her neck, severely damaging her spinal cord, when she fell on her head in a freak accident during a pole dancing exercise class at a York studio in December 2009.
Friends and relatives are raising money for the Debbie Plowman Happy Faces Trust, a registered charity which aims to buy vital equipment for Debbie and also benefits Spinal Research UK, the Lascelles unit and Osborne Spinal Unit at Sheffield Northern General.
