A MAN from a North Yorkshire village has reached the regional finals of a crime writing competition.
Ian Schofield, from Helperby, is among six other regional finalists in the New Crime Writer 2011 competition with his short story “Blood Will Flow”.
A public vote is being held until next Saturday to see which of the entries on the Alibi website will reach the final. All shortlisted finalists will attend Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate for the chance to win a trip to Sweden, a Kindle and a catalogue of 100 crime novels.
The overall winner will be announced on July 21 during a special reception at the beginning of the festival.
