YORK’S stadium project manager has hailed the plans for the project and urged people to give their views.
As revealed in The Press on Thursday, Marks & Spencer looks likely to open a new store at Monks Cross, as part of the York Community Stadium development, being led by Oakgate Ltd.
Planning consultation meetings are to be held next weekend.
Tim Atkins, community stadium project manager at City of York Council, said: “Oakgate’s plans for a community stadium are both innovative and comprehensive and incorporate a wide range of community facilities.
“I would encourage everybody to go and give their feedback at the public consultation events.”
The first is at York Community Fitness centre (formerly Courtney’s Gym), next to Huntington Stadium, from 11am to 7pm on Friday, and the second is at the Hilton Hotel in Tower Street from 10am to 3pm next Saturday.
