A NEW £500,000 cycle route linking Beverley and Hull has been opened in time for National Bike Week.
The four-kilometre off-road path, which has been designed for safe use by both cyclists and pedestrians, runs alongside the A1174 and will link up with existing routes near Tokenspire Business Park and at the Dunswell roundabout on the A1079.
It is one of the schemes being provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council with Government funding through the Local Transport Plan, and has been unveiled as National Bike Week takes place between today and next Sunday.
Cyclists using the path are being asked to give way to pedestrians and slow down when passing them, as well as to use their bells, while those walking along the route should be aware of other users.
