CHARITABLE residents and children of all ages turned out in York to enjoy a picnic in the Museum Gardens, despite a drizzly start to the weekend.
The event, which was organised by fashion retailer White Stuff, offered old-fashioned fun and entertainment, with face painting, outdoor games and music and refreshments, as well as some seaside-style photo opportunities.
A raffle was also held to raise money for the charity Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York (SNAPPY), which helps children and young people with special needs in the city to cope with their physical and personal development.
SNAPPY is the partner charity of the York store, which has previously helped raise £1,600 towards the programme with a fancy dress event and raffle in March.
