POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 28-year-old woman was killed in a crash in East Yorkshire.
The woman, who has yet to be named, was driving a white Citroen AX on the A164 on Monday.
She was driving towards Driffield from the direction of Beverley when she collided with a blue Audi A4 estate shortly after 3pm, about 200 yards north of the crossroads for Kilnwick near Driffield.
The Audi was being driven by a 73-year-old Hull man who was travelling in the opposite direction. He suffered a suspected broken sternum and was taken to hospital.
The victim was the sole occupant of the Citroen and was pronounced dead at the scene. She is from the Hull area.
The road was shut in both directions for about four hours as accident investigators examined the scene.
Witnesses are urged to phone police on 0845 60 60 222.
