THE driver of a car involved in a motorway crash in which a York woman died is now in a stable condition, police have confirmed.
The York man, who has not been named, has been in a critical condition for about two weeks following the collision with a lorry on the M1 in Nottinghamshire which fatally injured Heather Hardcastle.
Ms Hardcastle, 37, of Tostig Avenue, Acomb, died from her injuries on June 4, two days after the crash. The driver of the car is understood by The Press to have been her partner.
The funeral of Ms Hardcastle, a mum-of-three, was held at York Crematorium on Monday. A notice posted in The Press said she was the “dearly loved daughter of Lyn and Gordon, dearest partner of Paul and a much loved mummy, granddaughter and friend.”
