I READ with interest in The Press about a colony of bats that have been roosting in St Hilda’s Church at Ellerburn (Churchgoers going batty over colony, June 15). Members have spent £10,000 on heated bat lofts aiming at luring the creatures out.
This reminds me of the farmer who went to the local vicar and said “Could you do anything with the bats in my barn? I want to get rid of them and never see them again.”
“Yes,” said the vicar. “I will confirm them.”
