A MAN has been charged in connection with the 2007 murder of Riccall man Tommy Thomson, following an arrest on Monday in Ireland.
According to reports in the Irish media, a German man, 27-year-old Joachim Pohl, was charged with three offences, including abetting. He is expected to appear before Harristown District Court, in the Castelrea, area of Ireland, on Friday.
Mr Thompson, a father-of-five, who had been working in Ireland for the previous eight years as a plasterer, was reported missing from his home in Borris Road in 2007.
His body was found in a shallow grave near Portlaoise in January 2008
