A JOINT investigation by North Yorkshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been launched after a man was killed when a building under renovation collapsed.
The 48-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was trapped in the property at Felliscliffe, near Harrogate, as it buckled. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were alerted to the property on Cold Cotes Road at about 3pm on Monday. An air ambulance also attended.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are not yet in a position to identify the man and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.”
Police and HSE inquiries are ongoing at the location.
