WE have thoroughly enjoyed reading George Bye’s very interesting life story and seeing again the various 1940 scenes of York (Yesterday Once More, May 30, June 6 and 13).
We were so pleased he mentioned, among other things, stooks in the fields, rabbits in those days had a good chance of escaping and the fields looked peaceful.
We can, like lots of people, relate to George’s story and now, after all the hardship he endured, we were delighted he is looking so well and able to enjoy life.
Good luck George, and many thanks for all the wonderful memories.
