MITRE stretched their lead in division one of the York John Smith’s Men’s Darts League with an 8-2 victory over second-placed Shepherds.
Rich Corner fired two 17-dart legs and two 180s, Chris Quantock hit a maximum and a 19-darter, Steve Atkin completed legs of 17 and 19 darts, John Quantock gamed in 18 darts and Lutz Leutzsch fired a 180 and a 19-dart leg.
Shepherds, who slipped to third behind Ainsty ‘A’, had 21-dart hauls from Heath Scaife and Shaun Day.
Ainsty ‘A’ were 8-2 winners at Acomb ‘A’ thanks to a 120 checkout in an 18-dart leg from Dave Mason and a 15-dart leg by Chris Thompson, plus three 180s and a 14-dart leg from Martyn Turner.
Keith Turner fired two maximums for Acomb and team-mate Mark Mason hit one.
Alex Renton checked out on bull but his Tree team went down 6-4 against Cueball, after Rob Sargent and Robbie Carr won the deciding leg.
Crescent took full advantage of Severus’ free week by going top of division two with a 10-0 thrashing of Ainsty ‘C’. Chaz Ramsden and Steve Smith were the Crescent stars.
The points in the division two table have been adjusted following the withdrawal of Green Tree ‘B’.
