The latest craze of “planking”, as recently reported in The Press, has quite rightly been condemned as highly dangerous.

This activity requires the participant to lie prone and face down in a variety of unusual and risky places such as railway lines, fences and the roofs of buildings. May I suggest that this phenomenon is not new and has its origins in Premier League football, where planking can be witnessed on a regular basis, particularly in penalty boxes.

Moreover, several of our overpaid, prima donna players have been known to continue the act of “planking” in secret locations, especially with other people’s wives.
