I have just returned from a 13-day holiday cruise of the Baltic Sea visiting parts of Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Germany, Sweden and Russia and the most striking difference between these countries and Britain is the lack of litter.
The first five were all immaculate, pristine, clean, tidy and a joy to behold. The other two were not so good, but infinitely nicer than our nation. Why is this? Why have we slumped so badly? What has happened to our pride and caring? Somehow we need another Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
