I WRITE in response to A Bambridge on nuisance tractors (Letters, June 16).
According to a recent survey co nducted by a national newspaper, only two minutes are added to a journey by tractors.
Food is the most important commodity, they often have to be at a certain place to load and unload carrots, potatoes, etc.
Timing is crucial and if they miss their “slot” it causes endless trouble.
Remember, A Baimbridge, the fields often taken at low land values and compulsory purchase for new roads, making a farm less viable, has caused this.
So, either start out earlier or sit back and be patient as the tractor driver may have already done a day’s work, milking cows, feeding sheep or whatever. Have a nice day!
