Ovington made home advantage count as they beat Bolton Percy in Zone ‘A’ of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Burn & Company Under-9s League.
Tim Burgess made 12 but it was economical bowling from Finn Baqui and Thomas Kirkland, both with 0-0, backed with Josh Burland (1-3) and James Short (0-3), that saw their team home.
For Percy, Elizabeth Martin took 0-1 and Cameron Orr 1-3.
York ‘B’ took the points from a visit to Easingwold. F Schofield top-scored with 15 and A Reid took 1-7.
Acomb ‘A’s win at Sheriff Hutton Bridge saw Issac Giannini star with 20 and 2-1. E Ramsden made ten and J Mould took 1-0.
Bridge’s Harry Watkinson took 4-5 and W Anderson claimed 2-8, while N Hutton made 13 and J Hickey ten.
In Zone ‘B’, Acomb ‘C’ and Dunnington ‘B’ were evenly matched as Acomb took the points by seven runs.
Ben Thornton made 18, while L Stilgoe and O Walsh both made ten. Walsh also took 1-9.
Dunnington’s Max Wilson made 19 and A Clough and J Clough both scored ten.
Eddie Hargreaves (17) and Matthew Roberts (15) helped York ‘A’ to a win over Pocklington.
Josh Wood had figures of 1-5 and Sam Backhouse 0-3.
Pocklington’s top-scorer was G Watson 15 and T Batty claimed 1-9.
Hargreaves (15) and Roberts (20) were also in the runs in York’s defeat by Heworth, while Sam Backhouse hit 13.
Heworth’s Jack Watkinson (17), Will Roundtree (16) and Alex Stone (12) were the chief run-scorers, with Ethan Bradshaw taking 2-13 Zone ‘C’ leaders Dunnington claimed their fifth win over Selby.
The batting effort was led by Charles Ford (28), Charlie Cresswell (18), Harry Griffiths (17) and Finlay Smith (17). Cresswell had figures of 1-6 and Smith 0-1.
Yapham’s win over Londesborough Park featured 21 and 0-3 from Charlie Buckle, backed by James Cardy (19), Arthur Boyce (10), Sophie Orr (2-5) and Harry Jones (2-5).
Park’s Adam Humble made 12 and Harry Cartwright ten.
Stamford Bridge’s close win over Osbaldwick saw Dan Durkin top score with 28, aided by Taylor Stanton’s 21 and Harry Cooper’s 17. Durkin had figures of 0-2 and Sam Parkin 0-4.
Jack Allerton was the Osbaldwick star, making 25 and taking 2-7, while Callum Walton hit 14 and Fraser Horn got ten.
