SHERIFF Hutton Bridge are unbeaten in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Burn & Company Under-11s Hardball League after wins over Pocklington and Ovington.

Against Pocklington, C Hudson made 16 and Gabriel McGill hit 15, with M Thomson capturing 3-3 and H Sutcliffe 2-1. R Hill starred for Pocklington with 2-6 and 15.

Thomson was also in the wickets against Ovington with 2-2. He was supported by B Exall 2-1 and the batting of H Sutcliffe 18 and J Ainley 14. C Buckley took 2-12 for Ovington.

York are also in the mix, although they have played more games than their rivals.

They came out on top in a high-scoring game against Dunnington. Jack Williams made 22 and Cam Hall 12.

In reply, Dunnington’s H Bradley hit 31 and Harrison Mussel 24.

The bowlers made the difference, though, as York’s M Scurry took 2-11 and T Backhouse 1-12.

Bradley capped a good personal performance by taking 2-11.

Acomb kept their unbeaten run going with a win over Clifton Alliance, with in-form Dan Watkinson making 16.

For Alliance, Owen Marshall made 16 and Dan Moll 11, while Joe Kilvington took 2-5.

Londesborough Park are also well placed after a win over Selby.

Lucas Stephenson made 18 and Toby Stephenson 10 not out, while Oliver Ramos took 2-6 and Toby Stephenson 2-11. Selby’s challenge owed a lot to Tom Nicholson who made ten not out and took 3-4.

York reached the semi-finals of the U11s Hardball Cup with a win over Ovington. Batting first, they closed at 100-5 thanks to 30 not out apiece from J Williams and T Backhouse.

Ralph Sinclair took 2-23 and then made 27 with the bat, but, despite 27 from Charlie Power, Ovington’s innings fell short at 83-6. Cam Hall took 1-7.

In Zone ‘A’ of the U11s Incrediball League, leaders Acomb beat Stamford Bridge by five runs.

Joe Olney (13), Robin Smith (12) and Dom Wood (11) were their leading batsman, with Gobi Naguleswaran taking 2-10 and Darmaid Kennedy 2-12.

For Bridge, B Beard took 2-8, M Smith 1-4 and D Gilliot 1-9.

J Barker scored 18 not out and L Pratt ten not out as Tadcaster Magnets kept up their challenge for a play-off place with a win over Stamford Bridge. Bridge’s J Hannan was 11 not out and M McFarlane hit 12.

Bolton Percy won at Hemingbrough thanks to 11 runs from James Wilson and 2-10 from Cameron Orr. ’Brough’s Fraser Heath made ten runs.

In Percy’s home win over Heworth ‘B’, Wilson took 3-12, Duncan Robertson 2-6 and Jamie Davision 2-9.

Heworth’s Matthew Anderson made 14 and took 3-4, while Euan Collins chipped in with 11.

Bishopthorpe’s Connor McGahan hit 20 in his team’s win over Wheldrake.

Heworth ‘B’ overcame visitors Hemingbrough by ten runs.

’Brough’s Issac Leach made 12 while Alistair Sandler took 2-11, David Hartley 1-7 and Ben Snashall 1-4.

Heworth’s response was spearheaded by Collins with 17, as Hartley and Sam Wragg both made 11. Leach took 2-11.

Heworth extended their lead at the top of the Zone ‘B’ with a win over Woodhouse Grange.

Alistair Brown and Fergus McAughtrie both scored 19, Oliver Hughes 18 and Edward Rymer, ten.

Grange’s Harry Lee took 2-3 and Joe Allerton 2-15.
