JACOB GREEN was the star of the show as Bishopthorpe routed Heworth in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Under-15s 20-over President’s Cup.

Heworth were all out for 58 in the round two tie as Green took 4-2, Rory Watson claimed 2-3 and M Riley returned 3-13. Bish then raced to an eight-wicket win with Green unbeaten on 24.

In the quarter-finals, they will face Cawood after they beat Yapham by 81 runs.

Hemingbrough crashed out as they were skittled for 52 chasing Londesborough Park’s 129-3.

Ben Shingles (2-5) and Will Stephenson (2-12) restricted ’Brough after Park’s innings was boosted by unbeaten 50s from Greg Drewery and James Hanley.

Rob Ives’ 2-31 was in vain.

In Zone ‘A’ of the Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire U15s League, unbeaten Bishopthorpe were three-wicket winners over Dunnington.

Freddie Littlewood made 20 not out in Dunnington’s 78-9, and Bish’s drive for victory was spearheaded by Chris Stephenson’s 29, despite Oliver Smith’s 4-6.

Jonny Rawsthorne hit 39 and took 2-10 as Osbaldwick beat Yapham by 40 runs. Darren Harris was 31 not out in Osbaldwick’s 127-5 and Freddy Parry (5-10) teamed up with Rawsthorne to restrict Yapham to 87-9.

York ‘B’ beat Woodhouse Grange by eight wickets after bowling out their foes for 50. Grange’s Sam Shipley hit 25 runs and took 2-12.

Five teams in Zone ‘B’ – Londesborough Park, Malton, York ‘A’, Sheriff Hutton Bridge and Selby – have identical records of played six and won four.

Park lost to Acomb by 47 runs, subsiding to 63 all out in pursuit of Acomb’s 110-5.

George Sykes was 52 not out for Acomb and Aiden Burton hit 33, while Park’s Will Stephenson took 3-14.

Stephen Croft made 29 in reply, but Dan Powell took 3-13, Owen Johnson 2-5 and George Dodd 2-15.

Malton and Old Malton beat York ‘A’ by nine wickets, while Alex Payne’s 40 not out helped Ovington to victory over Pocklington.

An unbeaten 20 from Alex Robinson saw Sheriff Hutton Bridge home against Heworth.

Matty Fairburn’s 35 and 22 by Tom Neal helped Heworth to 82-7, but Bridge won by four wickets.

Selby ‘A’ cruised to a winning 70-2 after bowling out Clifton Alliance for 67.

Selby’s unbeaten batsmen were Andrew Wilson (26) and Elliot Precious (24).

Niall Tilsley hit 28 for Alliance.
