I have just been to see Prima Vocal Ensemble at Grand Opera House, York. This ensemble was absolutely fantastic and made my night when it sang Rule The World as their encore.
Their musical director, Ewa Sakecka, had an infectious enthusiasm which encouraged the singers in the ensemble.
I would also like to give high praise to the following musicians: Rachael Cook (clarinet), Buffy Breakwell (alto saxophone), Martin and Judith Waring (percussion) and Greg Birch (keyboard). Rachael’s solo in Bolero was beautifully played, as was Buffy’s solo in Adiemus.
Their next concert is on November 12 at St Michael Le Belfrey and is called York’s Celebration Of Film Music. I can’t wait – can you?
Jenny Dixon, Dukes Court, York.
