GOLDEN glory fell to York’s Wired Performance Kickboxing Club at the World Kickboxing Council’s All Britain Championships in Manchester.
The fledgling club, which was only formed earlier this year, bagged four gold medals and two bronze medals.
Wired Performance joint-owner Jamie Mathews, of Clifton, led the medal winners, storming to gold in the middleweight over-35 age category and the over-42 section.
Naburn’s Mike Clarke won the WKC British heavyweight title, while Acomb’s Chris Jones took gold in the heavyweight over-42 age category, and bronze in the heavyweight over-35 event.
Mitch Cowton, of Clifton, won bronze in the under-16s cadet 55-kilogramme category.
Mathews said: “A lot of hard work goes into the club and it was great to win these medals.
“Things are going really well for the club.”
