MEDAL winners Ollie Palmer and Scott Lincoln flew the flag for City of York Athletics Club at the UK Under-20 and U23 Championships in Bedford.
Northern champion Palmer turned in the run of his life in the 400 metres hurdles, winning silver and smashing his personal best with a time of 53.80 seconds.
The time was just outside the European junior qualifying standard.
Elsewhere on the track, City of York’s Ryan Buck clocked four minutes 19 seconds in his 1,500m heat, while 800m runner Dan Cheeseman ran 1-55.00 in his heat.
In the field events, northern shot putt champion Lincoln continued his good form by throwing two personal bests to win the bronze medal with a massive throw of 16.15m.
He would have taken silver, but for the presence in the field of the world junior number one from New Zealand.
City of York’s Paul Allsop finished sixth in the U23 javelin with a throw of 61.48m and Iain Swall was 11th in the U20 discus with a throw of 42.04m.
