A NORTH Yorkshire inn has had a £350,000 facelift.
The work has been completed at Ye Old Sun Inn at Colton, near Tadcaster, Ashley and Kelly McCarthy, owners since 2004, undertook the renovations, and the inn now boasts a multi-purpose function room, while the kitchen has doubled in size to accommodate up to an extra 60 dining guests.
The inn also offers cookery demonstrations and cooking classes.
Chocolatier Ashley created a chocolate plaque for the opening, which was attended by local dignitaries and David Shields, area director for tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire.
Mr Shields said: “The extension gives a hugely positive message to people visiting Yorkshire from both near and far. Publicans such as Ashley and Kelly recognise the importance of a superior food and drink offering to attract and retain customers.”
