POLICE investigating an attack by a dog on a three-year-old York boy say a member of the public has come forward with information.
The Press reported earlier this week how Preston Sellars, of Carr Lane, off Boroughbridge Road, was near Clifton Bridge on Sunday afternoon when a dog, believed to be an American Staffordshire Terrier, bit him on the chest and knocked him to the ground.
He suffered puncture wounds and the dog’s owner offered his mother a tissue before walking off with the animal.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said that a man had contacted the force after reading the article with information about the person he believed owned the dog, and this would be investigated by the officer dealing with the attack, PC Wesley Cooper.
