I BELIEVE it costs £8 to get into York Minster. Yet other cathedrals are free, such as Ripon and Wakefield; surely there should be a sliding scale so that pensioners, unemployed and students pay less.
Also shouldn’t there be cheaper cafés? Not everyone has a lot of spare money these days. People coming to York on a limited budged would then be able to see the sights and eat and drink in York.
