HAVING just driven from Easingwold to Paris, it is a shame that the worst road I had to drive on was just a few miles from home on the A19 just north of Shipton-by-Benningbrough.
It has to be said that the road surface almost resembles a lunar landscape, and has been like this since about a week after it was last resurfaced.
As there seem to be dozens of contractors further down at the A1237 intersection, why don’t they go and sort it out? They’ve been stringing that road improvement scheme out for months now and all they’ve done is replace perfectly good streetlights with identical ones, put a couple of slip roads in, remove a lay-by for dog walkers and widen the road so they can paint hatchings on it!
They could of rebuilt the entire A1237 in the time they’ve been trolling about.
Let’s hope a bit of Tarmac can be spared for Shipton. Quickly!
