IT may be the height of summer, but tickets have gone on sale for York’s 54th Annual Community Carol Concert at the Barbican box office.
Organiser Graham Bradbury said the event, which takes place at 2.30pm on Sunday December 18, was a traditional way to start Christmas celebrations.
“People can come along and sing their favourite Christmas Carols and listen to Tadcaster Grammar School Concert Band, York Opera, St George’s RC Primary School and Wigginton Primary School Choirs with Steve Cassidy, Yorkulele and Main Street Sound,” he said.
“Master of Ceremonies for the afternoon will be the Rev Andrew Foster and the community singing will be led by musical director, John Warburton.”
Tickets cost £7, with concessions (OAPs and under 14s) £5, and family tickets (two adults and two concessions) £20.
