Dave Taylor set the early pace in the Leeds Summer Angling League on Sunday with a solid 20lb 4oz taken on the feeder and caster at peg 12 on the Nun Monkton stretch of the Ouse.
He banked an 8lb barbel and three bream to hold off Dave Miles who had three slabs on the same method two pegs above the winner. Martin Highe completed the top three with two bream for 13lb 4oz, the feeder again being the telling method.
The carp were shoaled tightly ready for spawning at Oaktree Leisure on Sunday and Tom Bainbridge had the fortune to draw on them at peg 46, where meat fished at eight metres accounted for around 30 of them to 5lb for an even ton.
Three pegs to his right, Shaun Walker alternated corn and meat at ten metres to find fish of a similar ilk ending the day with 79lb 7oz.
Tim Bell took the Sunday open at Langwith Lakes with an excellent bag of 104lb 13oz from peg 18 on Anya’s Lake.
Offering pellet tight across to the island at 13 metres, he bagged carp to 3lb.
That saw off the challenge of Tynesider Dave Forster, who had the best weight from Emma’s Lake with a level 89lb from peg 2, where pellet and meat fished along the margins accounted for carp to 4lb.
