POLICE in East Yorkshire are hunting two thieves who stole a moped.
One of men fell off the machine in the haste to make a quick getaway from Long Lane in Beverley.
A passer-by stopped to ask the fallen man if he was okay, and the thief tried to steal some keys from the Good Samaritan.
The offender got back on the moped with his accomplice, and the scooter was later set alight and found near the A1079.
The theft of the scooter happened at about 11.15pm on Sunday.
Both men were white and about 5ft 10ins tall. The first was aged between 20 and 28, of medium build and bald. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.
The other was tanned, aged 28 to 32 years, slim with dark, short cropped hair with tattoos on his left hand. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans.
