YORK’S new council needs to spend a bit more time consulting residents and less time pushing through apparently arbitrary decisions to sell off the city’s assets.
They have now announced a plan to sell off the land to the rear of Acomb Library, threatening the future of the bowling green.
The proposal would also scupper plans for a “one stop shop” for those Westfield and Acomb residents who want to talk to council officials, while throwing into doubt the plan to landscape the adjacent derelict land which is a cause of complaint for those living in Chancery Court.
The council needs to undertake consultation on issues like this before making decisions.
Mrs J S Talbot, Redcoat Way, York.
