I WENT through to Scarborough the other day and had the chance to save some of my hard-earned cash by getting a lift in a colleague’s car. These are, after all, times of austerity.
I caught the train home and paid £16.10 for a single ticket only to learn that a return was only £16.20.
Do you remember the time when a single ticket would be half the price of a return? No wonder my maths ability is suffering. Now what can I spend my ten pence on?
