TEN homes in villages near Selby were broken into overnight between Sunday and Monday.
Five homes in Kellington, three in Manor Garth and two in Marsh Lane were targeted by burglars who stole a white Ford Focus from a home in Manor Garth after they broke in and stole the vehicle’s keys, as well as a handbag and purse.
Thieves also stole handbags and purses from three of the houses. A Jeffries horse saddle was taken from a garage at one of the houses in Marsh Lane.
Detective Constable Carol Kirk urged residents to secure their homes to deter opportunist thieves.”
