YORK community groups, the Greenshoots Gardening Club and Poppy Arts Club have been given charitable grants from one of York’s major businesses, the CPP Group.
Greenshoots, an Acomb-based horticultural club for visually impaired people, hopes to use the funds to plant and maintain a small garden at its local library.
The Poppy Arts Club aims to use the funding to hold an exhibition of local artists later this month.
CPP, in Holgate Road, is an established grant-giver through its community charity fund, giving between £100 and £750 to numerous local projects.
Mike Kneafsey, CPP managing director, said: “CPP takes pride in working with the local community in York and hopes they will make a difference.”
