FORMER Jarvis workers who lost their jobs after the business went into administration in April last year will hold a vigil outside Leeds employment tribunals on Friday.
The workers, as well as employees that left the business before redundancies were made but have had their pensions affected by the collapse, are holding the vigil while a case management hearing is heard in order to set out the future conduct of unfair dismissal applications for more than 500 of the 1,400 affected ex-employees.
Bill Rawcliffe, co-ordinator of Justice for Jarvis Workers (J4J), himself a former Jarvis employee, said: “This week 1,400 Bombardier employees are facing redundancy, once again the Government – ConDems this time – appear to be washing their hands of any responsibility.”
