A MAN who died when he was struck by an express train on the East Coast main line north of York has been named as Ian Leckenby.
The 52-year-old was killed on the railway track near Station Hotel, Tollerton, near Easingwold, at about 4.20pm on Monday, June 27.
Mr Leckenby, who lived in Tollerton, was pronounced at the scene. Police are treating the incident as “non-suspicious” and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Mr Leckenby leaves a widow, Jayne, and daughters Rachael and Nicola. A funeral service will be held at York Crematorium, on Friday, at 1pm.
