DETECTIVES are making a fresh appeal for information after the theft of a 200-year-old barometer and a haul of jewellery from a North Yorkshire cottage.
The antique stick barometer was taken from a property in West Tanfield, near Ripon, and is valued at £30,000. It is 40 ins tall and made from mahogany.
The burglars also stole an antique mahogany German mantel clock, which is 18ins tall, with a brass face and two gold finials and is valued at about £1,000, during the raid on May 24. The thieves also took a cream McKenna jewellery box and a large quantity of jewellery.
Also stolen were three bottles of Memon champagne and a two piece carbon fibre fishing rod with reel. Anyone with information should phone police 0845 6060247.
