MAYBE someone else could throw more light on this subject than I. But I remember about 20 to 25 years ago, maybe more, a man in the Bradford area who owned a Jaguar and a Morris 1000.

Under the bonnet or somewhere on the motor was a drum of water, with a pipe going into (I believe) the inlet manifold; the result was basically more than twice as many miles to the gallon as normal.

Somewhere along the way, some big petrol company found out about this idea and the man was told this was never to be seen or used in any other vehicle again.

If this is true, how much more fuel have we used in the last 25 to 30 years than was necessary?

Where have all these fuel saving ideas gone? Surely that cannot have been the only one.
